Well as recommend by the lovely smatz (check out her fashion blog, she knows her stuff) I went with a Sally Hansen Salon Series polish. I already had this one in my collection AND it satisfied my neutral craving. Perfect. Considering how wonderfully this polish applies I'm a little surprised I don't have more from this line. Also I absolutely love this color. It's called Gray by Gray and it lives up to its name. Depending on the light I'm in, the subtle color of the gray changes. Here it looks more bluish, but in some lights it has more of a green tone, and in others more of a purple. It's fabulous.
Also BTW's before I put this polish on I tried out another one of my xmas presents! It's a nail buffing kit from my mom. Now the nail buffers I've seen before look like little blocks where each side has a differently grained "sand paper." You start on the coarsest side and work your way around until your nails are nice and shiny. This isn't that. This kit is a cream with minuscule granules in it. You place it on each nail and then with a suede buffer pad you rub the cream into your nail. Then wash off and VOILA! Beautiful shiny nails. The thumb on the left is buffed, the one on the right is not.

Passive Purple
This color, named Eiffel for this Color by OPI was a bit of a let down. In the bottle it looks purple with shimmery flecks. However on my nails I think it looked more like a dark maroon. Again almost black. Also I could barely detect the sparkles which was my favorite part about the color I saw in the bottle. Oh well.
When I removed it I found my nails to be dry and peeling. I'm giving them a break for a little whiles. Trying to douse them in cuticle cream.
New thoughts: I've been really liking the look of neutrals. I want to continue with documenting my current collection but I might be looking into a new neutrally color as well. Also I've been thinking about branching out brand wise. OPI's great, but having a true favorite only counts if you know you don't prefer the other options. So adventuring we go!

New Year's snow
Here is the polish I wore to bring in the New Year. I know that the glitter polish was very fitting for a New Year's celebration but I got this one from my sister for xmas and I wanted to wear it. Actually I wore this on my middle fingers for Christmas day as well because the glitter came off and I didn't have the bottle with me. Lucky it was balanced hand to hand to I decided to do an accent nail. This is Havana Nights with It Looks Like Rain Dear layered on top. Both are from OPI's Sephora line. My sister got them for me since we don't have a Sephora here and you can only by those colors there. She is so sweet! I really like this combination. It got better the longer I wore it too. It reminds me of mermaids and the sea and also of a new layer of large crystal snowflakes freshly fallen over ice packed snow.
